  • We specialise in all forms of general commercial litigation encompassing corporate and contractual issues. Our partners have substantial experience before all levels of the Higher Courts in England and Wales (including the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court).
  • Most of our day-to-day work is conducted in the Business and Property Courts, primarily the Commercial Court which handles complex and high-value national and international business disputes.
  • We act on cases arising from corporate mergers and acquisitions. These cases are varied but often include disputes over deferred consideration, and warranties and indemnities in a sale and purchase agreement. The global M&A and private equity markets in 2021/2022 are performing at record levels due to distressed conditions which is already leading to an upturn in disputes work.

  • Advising a state-owned Indian company in relation to a substantial claim arising from the breach of an agreement for the supply of steel to a major UK based entity.

  • Acting for a privately owned oil and gas company in proceedings before the Commercial Court involving claims for breach of contract, estoppel and rectification. Vitol E&P Limited v New Age (African Global Energy) Limited [2018] EWHC 1580 (Comm)

  • Acting for a UK developer, licensor and supplier of digital education software in a breach of contract clam brought against a leading multinational company in the Commercial Court.

  • Acting on behalf of a Russian high net worth individual to regain control of a complex corporate structure acquired by him using nominee shareholders and directors who had attempted to dispose of his interest without his knowledge or consent.

  • Acting for the subsidiary of a state-owned oil and gas company in Commercial Court proceedings against a major bank involving breach of mandate, breach of contract and negligence claims in respect of a substantial payment fraud.

  • Acting for a UK based property investment firm in a high-value breach of contract claim brought in the Commercial Court against various US-owned Luxembourg companies arising out of the termination of a number of asset management agreements.
